EL PINELL D'BRAI. IRRIGATED CHERRY FINCA WITH TRADITIONAL CASA

30 000€

Ref: 118/23

Less than 5 minutes drive outside the picturesque village of El Pinell d'Brai, this irrigated cherry finca of 5.8 hectares (58,338m2) has on it's border a traditional 2-storey stone house of 112m2 (56m2 X 2).

Built around 1900 the house is a good example of traditional building materials and techniques, with a high ceiling downstairs big enough to bring in a mule or cart. Upstairs is divided into two back bedrooms, a front room with a fireplace for cooking, and a small pantry with shelves.

The roof beams and roof are in good condition, besides above the chimney where a piece has come away.

It looks as though the house, with its good vantage point, may have been used in the Civil War (and before,) judging by the names and dates written on the walls upstairs. At night the lights from at least 4 villages can be seen in the distance.

While the house is registered to the same owner as the finca, it is actually around 15m outside the border, meaning the land immediately around the house does not belong to it, although there is access directly off a track to the front door.

Next to the house, on the other side of the track, are the finca's well tended cherry trees, separated by traditional dry stone walls and accessed via a private track that runs up to the last orchard. All the fruit trees are irrigated from the mains agricultural water supply,

Around 2.5 hectares of the property is cultivated and the rest has been left wild.

This is a beautiful and interesting area steeped in history.
